The Crane & Hoisting Equipment Operator - Boom Truck program will train you to service and operate the hoist and swing equipment that is used to move machinery, materials and other large objects. Boom truck operator students are taught to set up, service and operate truck-mounted hydraulic booms that are capable of moving heavy loads.
NAIT's Crane & Hoisting Equipment Operator - Boom Truck program is specifically for apprentices who operate boom trucks with a capacity between 5 and 45 tons.

Boom truck operators are employed by general contractors and subcontractors in the forestry, mining, construction and oil industries, as well as by crane rental companies.
Experienced boom truck operators may advance to supervisory positions or set up their own crane rental businesses.
